Nick`s Diner in Wheaton

You need to try these chocolate chip pancakes because George will cook one side and drop the chocolate chips on the soft yellow topside if the mix be egg or giving them a flip. What happens next is the chips begin to sizzle on the opposite side creating a crispy layer when you finally eat them. So soft and fluffy these flap Jack's are second to none unless your momma made them. That crispy hash on the side...it'll make you a fan if you aren't one already.

Very busy little place in a busy spot. The food was very good and a very good portion size for the price. I look forward to coming back

If you're looking for a comfortable, classic diner, Nick's is your place. Eggs are perfectly cooked, when you order crispy bacon it's actually crispy. Home fries have a nice crunchy outer layer but are moist and well-seasoned. Service is friendly and fast. Not great for groups larger than 6, and cash only (with an ATM on site).

Incredible. Especially in these times, there is a need for a diner. The food had more flavor than I expected, and there’s more food than I expected. I came for bacon and eggs, and I’m glad I did. Five stars.

I'm from the Philly and one thing I have missed in my 13 years in the D.C. area is having true neighborhood diners (they are everywhere at home). Now that I live in Wheaton, I'm excited to have Nick's around the corner! It's exactly what I've been trying to find. There are zero frills - just a down home, tasty breakfast. The home fries are delicious: well seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The pancakes are also great. The hungry breakfast at $10 for eggs, homefries, pancakes and sausage was more than I could eat. My mom loved the gyro omelet!Can't wait to try the home made cream chipped beef next time.

I discovered Nick’s a couple of months ago. My only regret is finding out this diner has been around for years without my knowledge. Well, do have another regret too: I’m ill because they are not open 24/7! Because if they were open 24/7, I could be sure to get a damn good, and I do mean damn good, meal 24/7. This place is like having your grandmother cook your favorite meal anytime you stop in. Why this diner is a local secret I don’t know. This “cat” should have been impossible to keep in the “bag.”

Close to my house and is my favorite spot to eat whenever I work from home. The people are super nice and make you feel super welcome. If you visit the place is cash only. They do have a ATM machine you can use to take out cash just in case.

How much better can you make a simple ham & cheese?? Come here and test your theories. The home fried potatoes, truly home fried. This place is great, I don't know how I've driven by all these years without stopping in.

Food is always delicious nice hot and fresh right off the grill!! The staff are also awesome very welcoming. During this time of the pandemic they're very cautious.

Nice diner great food. We had brunch here and definitely will try again. Its cash only and worth the extra effort to get cash if you don't carry any. We had chocolate chip pancakes and sausage omelette and we loved them. Staff are friendly.

I Hate This place they will have you on hold for more the 15minutes. It’s like the people answering the calls are a bunch of young high school girls. That act like air heads smh

I love this quirky little spot in the middle of Wheaton. It's tiny so sometimes you have to wait for a table but it's exactly what your expect from a diner. Folks are friendly and the food is good (I've only ever ordered breakfast).

One of the very best old school diners in the DC area. Cash only but there's an ATM in the place. The specials are great. Greek tinged hash brown potatoes laced with onions and peppers are a standout. With the wait if it's crowded. Family owned and operated from the beginning of time. Go. You will be glad you did.

My boyfriend took me here for brunch on my bday. Max was great! Food was amazing, I got chocolate chip pancakes w/ hash browns! Portions are good. Food came quick too. There’s parking in the back. Dinner is small but we didn’t have to wait for a table. Cash ONLY. Overall, great experience will definitely be back.

Breakfast here is Awesome. Parking a pain, but crowded at 9am. Not the cheapest around and limited seating,, but Amazing food and service. 4 stars because they don't take Credit cards and the wait,, but the food is what you want and expect,, it doesn't disappoint. BTW, the CornBeef Hash was Awesome and the HomeFries are the best I've EVER Had.

A 3.5 star. For the price and the size (of my pastrami sandwich), they do pretty well. Can't say totally agree because of lack of comparison, but their sign that says the best pastrami sandwich has a point. Perfectly made and cut, give you quite a stack of it between the bread. I will go back just for that. Not digging the old fashioned potatoe chunks, much preferred them crispy, but that's what they serve.Long wait at times, coffee and service are average. CASH ONLY.Update: -0.5 for the inefficiency. Long wait after order placed...

Absolutely amazing! My first time visiting Nick's Diner..breakfast delicious and such a warm welcoming place to come. Coffee is delicious! Reminds me of North Carolina diner's. Thank you Nick for bringing home southern cook to Wheaton, Maryland

If you are looking for a small, greasy-spoon diner, this is your place. It can get a bit cramp inside when it gets busy but you will be greeted with friendly staff and delicious food. Nick's Diner only serves breakfast and lunch. If you sit at the counter, you can even see the food being made in front of you. The diner doesn't accept credit or debit cards, but they do have an ATM. However, I don't know if they charge for the use of it. The place was fun and the experience was great for me, but it might not be for everyone. If you are expecting the same level of food and service like the Silver Diner, then I wouldn't go. However, Nick's Diner may have the charm to win you over.

Classic little Greek-American diner. Great ambiance. Cheap, cheerful, fully satisfying.Only complaint is that the seats at the counter aren't spaced well and feel a little cramped.
